York pharmacies help achieve Regional NHS Excellence Award

York pharmacies have been pivotal in helping a local GP member-led organisation, Nimbuscare, achieve a Regional NHS Excellence Award.

Through collaboration with CPNY and its pharmacies, Nimbuscare has successfully implemented a Pharmacy First co-ordination service, for its own surgeries and others in the surrounding area.  Referrals into Pharmacy First have significantly increased as a result, meaning that GP appointments are protected for patients with more complex needs.  Nimbuscare are looking to extend the co-ordination service into Scarborough and Ryedale in due course.

Nimbuscare was awarded Regional Champion for Delivering Value on 10th June 2026.
